Agalawatte Plantations PLC (APL) is one of leading regional plantation companies(RPC) in Sri Lanka, established in 1992. The company was listed on the main board of the Colombo Stock Exchange in 1996. As core-business, the company is engaged in cultivating and producing tea, rubber and oil palm across 16 estates located in Kalutara, Ratnapura & Nuwara Eliya Districts and currently employs over 3600 workers. The company’s main strategic focus is aligned to continuous development of the core plantation business and pursuing diversification led growth.
APL is one of main rubber producers of the country, making more than 1.5 Mn kilos of rubber per annum. The company possesses 13 estates comprising rubber plantations on which we operate seven (07) factories located in Kaluthara and Rathnapura Districts. We produce all grades of natural rubber including Sole Crepe, Thick Pale Crepe and RSS. In order to secure the long term viability, the Company continues to re-plant of rubber on regular basis.
The company produces finest Ceylon teas with prime tea estates located in the up-country and low country regions. APL manages three (03) estates of tea in Nuwara Eliya District and also three (03) estates in Ratnapura District. The annual tea production of the company is around 2.0 Mn kilos of made tea, renowned for its unique favours and identity around the world. Being predominantly focused on rubber and tea plantations, the company also produce oil palm in the kaluthara and Ratnapura regions.
